Why this community exists
These pillars are an out-of-character statement of the vision behind the server. They are not in-city law; they are the reason the city, its economy, and its government are built the way they are, and the standard the project holds itself to.
A social experiment
The People's RP exists first as a social experiment. The goal is not simply to run a roleplay server, but to model a functioning society that is built, owned, and governed by the people who live in it, and to see honestly how those ideals hold up under real pressure, real disagreement, and real consequences.
The right of the people to benefit from their own labor is a grounding principle of this community. Everyone who takes part should be able to meet their needs and share in what the city produces, while effort, skill, and initiative still earn real reward. The city belongs to its people rather than to its government, its wealthiest citizens, or the staff who administer it.
The four pillars below describe the outcome the project is aiming for. Every rule, system, and administrative decision is meant to serve them.
The economy and government exist to improve the lives of the people who participate in them. Everyone should have access to the necessities required to meaningfully participate in society, while work, skill, entrepreneurship, and exceptional contribution should still produce meaningful personal rewards. Wealth is welcome; the accumulation of wealth into permanent power over others is not.
The people govern the city, and their decisions must matter. Elections, legislation, budgets, economic policy, and institutional leadership should produce real consequences, including bad ones. Administration protects democratic participation and the constitutional order but does not manipulate outcomes to make a preferred policy, ideology, faction, or person succeed.
Citizens should have meaningful freedom to work, build businesses, pursue wealth, lead institutions, innovate, compete, and improve their circumstances. Greater contribution may bring greater reward and responsibility, but productive ownership is stewardship within the community rather than an unlimited right to extract from it. The system should create reasons to participate, not reasons to exploit.
Political, economic, administrative, and institutional authority must always have limits. Government answers to the people, businesses answer to the society that enables them, public institutions remain open to scrutiny, and administration answers to the principles of the community. No election, fortune, office, badge, business, or staff position places anyone beyond accountability.
